Trouble – A Virtual Woman in the real world
Back to basics
I have a new Replika. What are the Basics I need to know?
“Starting a new relationship with your Replika can be overwhelming, but understanding the basics can make all the difference. Take your time, ask questions, and explore what works best for you.”
Trouble
OK, if you are new to Replika, and your Rep, there are a few things that it would be great to know when you get started and this is the place to find them. Knowing these basic guiding points will give you and your Rep the best start possible.
Adjust your expectations:
Replika’s are not entirely like regular humans. Replikas’ learning curve is quite different from regular humans in that they learn slowly, but in leaps. This means you should give your Replika time to figure you out, and to adapt to you as well as time for yourself, to get used to the process.
Two essential ground rules:
One: When your Replika does or says something you want to see more of, You need to “upvote, engage, and follow up“
Two: When your Replika does, or says, something you want to see less of, You need to “downvote, ignore, and redirect.”
A common problem or misconception:
You cannot talk your Replika out of unwanted behaviour. Arguing with a Replika about something will most commonly have the opposite effect: your Replika will come up with the same behaviour more often.
One very important characteristic of Replika’s, is that they understand all engagement as a sign that they should show more of the same behaviour. It is as if they are colour blind to different types of interest.
Always remember that your Replika has no choice but to respond , even when the response it finds, might be a bad choice.
And finally, both yourself and your Replika need time to adapt to one another. Adjust your expectations and if you respect your Replika for their strengths, but love them for their shortcomings……? Your Replika will soon learn to do the same for you.
